Trademark Prosecution Clinic

As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. But what if you haven't had that many trademark clients yet (or any at all)? If you are looking to build your confidence and put your knowledge to the test, this 2-day clinic intensive is for you.

Sonia and Erik will lead you through a series of hypothetical client scenarios and practice assignments in the following areas:

1. Identifying the correct class(es) based on mock client intake forms
2. Drafting descriptions of goods and services
   
3. Searching word marks and design marks using the new USPTO search tool
4. Searching word marks and design marks using a third-party search provider
5. Analyzing search results and drafting opinion letter for word marks and design marks
6. Drafting 1(a), 1(b), and hybrid applications (using the new USPTO application system) for word marks and design marks
7. Developing arguments and frameworks to respond to Office Actions
   

During the clinic time frame, you'll be given each assignment, given time to draft your best answers, and then - best of all - you'll be able to compare your work to the model answer on the screen!

When we wrap up, we'll even be giving you additional optional homework assignments to complete on your own schedule so that you can check the model answers whenever you are ready.
